Ms.Marina

Marina Gold, also known as Ms. Marina, has been teaching, caring and mentoring children for over 25 years. She currently left a private Montessori school in Fremont, Ca to follow her path as the owner of Itsy Bitsy Family Daycare. She remained the head teacher for 3 ½ years. Her classroom was a mixed age group of 2 to 4 years of age during her first year and then transitioned to 3 to 4-year-olds. Here at this school is where she instantly fell in love with the Montessori Method. She has taken Montessori education classes, attended workshops and seminars.  Marina did everything she could to expand her knowledge of Montessori. Marina is grateful for the experience she gained from working hands-on with other Montessori teachers as well as having many opportunities to work with the directors for the school.

Helping the Community is a Positive
Outlook on Others

Volunteer Girl Scout Leader

Marina successfully established a Girl Scout troop with 7 girls that remained active for 12 years until her girls graduated from high school and attended college. Marina arranged monthly meetings in her home and looked forward to her girls' planned activities, earning their badges and pins. It was important for Marina to attend monthly Leader Meetings, with the Girl Scouts of Northern California Board, to receive information about upcoming events and volunteering opportunities for her troop. Her girls volunteered countless hours in the community working with younger children, elderly, and animals. Girl Scouts has been an amazing experience for Marina, her family, and her troop. Marina enjoyed watching the impact giving back to the community and volunteering had on her girls as well as herself. Marina's troop received the Super Troop award twice, an award that is presented to troops for their work in partnership to achieve a well-balanced program, leadership strengths and community service. Marina is proud of their dedication and the time they shared together.

The Benefit with Working with Individuals with Special Needs

A Beautiful Mind

At a young age before, having children of her own, Marina’s sense of compassion and drive to serve a population of children with autism and other developmental disabilities was strong. Marina has worked in group homes, a respite facility, homes of children and was an on-call teacher aid for patients from Agnew State hospital. Working with individuals with special needs brought many unique challenges and opportunities. Marina was inspired by the positive impact she had with each child she worked with by helping them to grow, gain skills and work towards independence. At times her work brought on challenging emotions, but she knew this was the work she was chosen to do. Her work has truly made her a better person personally and professionally.
